What you have is gumming/varnish on the vacuum slide. Been there done that I think is the term frequently used. I solved the problem by a teaspoon full of gumout in every tankfull of gas. If you only have gumout aerosol stick the red stick into the tank and give it a squirt for 5 seconds (the equivalent of a teaspoonfull). Be sure to put a rag around the tank fill hole and not let the spray get onto your paint. Works for me!
